        The Real Charlie Brown

Sir Tom Foolery’s latest series of paintings entitled "THE REAL CHARLIE BROWN" finds the artist examining and pulling characters from the iconic, All-American Peanuts (Charlie Brown) characters and pairing them with images related to race, culture and current events, creating a juxtapose where the characters meet. Foolery states “ This is my way of discussing with peers the idea of power, dominance, and submission as it relates to race and culture.

        Kill'em with Kindness

KILL’EM with KINDNESS is a love story. Not the type involving cheap roses and candy, but one about the love and allegiance discovered by the souls who found a reason to sacrifice it all, even their own lives, for the sake of an idea, a movement, and their families. Symbols and historical icons associated with power and liberation are interwoven with found objects like fabrics and wood to communicate messages of freedom. Some hold simple ideas about our material consumption " you are what you eat."

After seeing the picture of this scene years ago I asked myself why would a person put themselves in harms way like this. Was he insane? Or just fed up enough to stand up to the empire? While painting the scene, I fell into a meditative state where we met and I asked him about it, he said "Tanks are driven by men, men have hearts"
