Humble Pie Art Gallery© - From time to time I’ll get introduced to artists that really moves me. Perhaps it’s a song, a photograph, a quote, a book, a painting, a movie, a performance, a news article – the list goes on. I’m taking the chance that it will move someone else by sharing, reblogging, and promoting it in this category.

GREG MIKE: POPSTARS & COKEHEADS
UPON ENTERING THIS EXHIBIT I WAS QUITE SIMPLY ENGULFED BY WHAT I COULD ONLY DESCRIBE AS A SCENE FROM THE WONKA CHOCOLATE FACTORY ON ACID. COLORS ONLY A MADMAN COULD PUT TOGETHER INTRUDED MY EYES AND I BECAME FAMILIAR WITH THE CHILD IN ME IN A WAY I HAVEN'T EXPERIENCED IN A WHILE. THEN THE TITLE, "POPSTARTS" AND COKEHEADS" OFFERED US LUCKY FEW A JUXTAPOSITION WHICH MADE THE JOURNEY ACROSS ATLANTA IN THE RAIN WORTH WILD. DO YOURSELF A FAVORITE, GO SEE IT NOW!!!!

We Feel Fine: An Almanac of Human Emotion is an in-depth exploration of human feelings.
Drawing from a database of more than 12 million individual sentences collected over 3 years from personal blogs on the Internet, We Feel Fine presents a comprehensive contemporary portrait of the world's emotional landscape, exploring the ups and downs of everyday life in all its color, chaos, and candor.
Published by Simon & Schuster, the 288-page book contains photographs from over 1,000 individual bloggers, thousands of statistical computations, hundreds of infographics, dozens of back stories and in-depth profiles, and countless insights into the extraordinary lives of ordinary people.
The book, like the original We Feel Fine project, was co-authored with Sep Kamvar.

Jonathan Harris (b. Aug 27, 1979) makes projects that reimagine how humans relate to technology and to each other. Combining elements of computer science, anthropology, visual art and storytelling, his projects range from building the world’s largest time capsule (with Yahoo!) to documenting an Alaskan Eskimo whale hunt on the Arctic Ocean (with a warm hat). He is the co-creator of We Feel Fine, which continuously measures the emotional temperature of the human world through large-scale blog analysis, and has made other projects about online dating, modern mythology, anonymity, news, and language. After studying computer science at Princeton University, he won a 2005 Fabrica fellowship and three Webby Awards. |
Avery*Sunshine- Yes she is!
Her joy is infectious! It's impossible to be around this woman and not laugh and feel like your apart of a legacy. Why do I love Avery*Sunshine's music? Simple, she sings her heart. Not from some sheet given to her to recite. Her words, thoughts, and that voice.....um um um. Have you ever heard the sound of yummy? Well that's her. Her music is like a big bowl of candied yams for your ears. ENJOY! |
Hebru is one of those artist who's always pushing the lines with concepts, collaborations, style, or medium. He is forever challenging the viewer to dig a little deeper into that 3rd eye. The first painting I ever purchased from an artist was one of his originals. If you don't have one yet you are missing out on greatness! He is a pop culture guru & one of my teachers. |

Allen Cooley, I mean his work speaks for itself. I was exited to work with Allen a.k.a THE COOL because he makes everything a visual journey. I'm serious, his use of color, light, values and range are genuine to the craft. Check out the work and the camio of yours truly!

Artists like Fahamu Pecou are a rare breed. When I first met him in Atlanta I first had a hard time understand his personality and work, kinda thought he was a jerk. I quickly learned that there was a method to his madness and to not judge a book by its cover. The man is a pure genius. He posses an ability to, as we call it,"let his nuts hang" in a way very few artist can. His views on pop culture are superb and word around Atlanta is that Fahamu Pecou is the SHIT!

I am an absolute student and fan of this mans work. Over the past few years I have not come across many artists who have the diversity of styles as Alfred Conteh, I mean anyone would be hardpressed to try to put him in a box. I was convinced at one point that he had someone else hid in the closet doing his paintings for him because his styles are so polar opposite. I had the pleasure of curating my first exhibit with him, " Fired Chicken and Watermellon."- 2005. His ability to pull from his life is amazing. In my opinion he's a true storyteller. |

If world war 3 was to start today and our tools were artist, Reinier would be my commander and chief of the "Creating Brigade." There are few words to describe how special of an artist his guy is. We first met in 9th grade and it has been a pleasure seeing him develop as an artist. Imagine sitting in painting class next to this guy. It was like sitting next to the asian kid with the big glasses and it was test day.

Reinier Gambo His name is the same backward and forward... nuff said. |
Serge is another one of those "smart asain kids" I had to sit next to in class. His genius is obvious. What I admire most about this guy though is his work ethic. He seems to always find that 25th hour in the day and always hits the target dead on.
